Johns Great Day at Tuckerton!

I felt a little unsure about using up 9 hours of a kids two day weekend in a car stuck in NYC traffic but I have always wanted to go to this show and I put it on the kitchen Fridge Calendar over 5 months ago. When I got lost at hour 4 of the trip I was really second guessing my decision. But when the bus dropped us off from the parking lot in front of the seaport and there was a display of WWII battle equipment I knew I was OK.

We tried to see it all in a whirl wind 4 hours but I am sure we missed a lot. What a nice place and very hunter and kid friendly. Wish we had brought the dog!

Ride home was long but not as much as some face sunday. Very glad we went!

Big thanks to the Jersey Waterfowlers for all the hard work they put in.

This was at the front door hoping Lou would walk by.

John traded for some sweet predator calls we will use for sure this winter.

This is John Kuhn's diamond plated sneak boat. Very nicely done. Even has port to starboard carpeting.......

Thanks Bob for posting up some pics. I have missed this show for the past couple years and it is one of the best out there.

Its all about Building that Bond.

I realized I left my camera about 2 hours into the drive. The wife and I had a good time and wished we had brought at one of the dogs.

Me too. But this year I had already made that run to pick up the sneakbox. Left at 4 am; 4 hours down over 6 back. Of course having the new boat kept me pumped the whole trip, that and not knowing if Barb was going to flip out over yet another boat. Good thing she was out of town :^)

Bill, if you want to work with CWA to add a boat show portion to the decoy fun day I'll be glad to help.

Bob, great pictures thanks for posting. Glad John had a great time.

Nice pictures. It looked like they had a great turnout this year when I was down there on Saturday. Got to talk to Bob Fricke for a while, always like touching base with him. His garvey he had down there was awesome as well.

Picked up my LZ Black ducks from Mike, great guy and great decoys. I am really impressed with them.

That looked like a huge "Dessert Fest"! Just wander around and decide which one to sample first. What a great shot selection and commentary. Thanks. Sure looked like fun.

I was there yesterday as well... I saw the Bronco, my father used to have one like that when I was a kid, boy would I love to have that for a summer truck to ride on the beach and around town!

Great show, glad I went... next year I am going to bring my wife.

Mike,
I think you are talking about the picture of the boats with the table in front of them with a plaid table cloth? If so that is a collection of BBSB half models. The builders use to use those to show how a boat would look to customers and to get the full size lines for building. By mirror reversing the numbers you get a perfect match for both sides of the full size boat.

The unpainted ones have contrasting wood that is darker below the water line of the hull and lighter wood for the topsides.

Bob, sorry I missed you and John yesterday.... I would have like another hour or so at the show, but had to get back to VA for a birthday party last night... we left around 4 from the Museum... I did manage to pick up a few olds and ends I needed, along with a couple steals in the auction. Again, sorry we missed seeing you guys.

Dave

Bob, Nice to meet you and your son!

It was an great show this year and there was a nice contingent of shady looking DHBP guys there on Saturday. LOL.Nice to see all of you again and thanks for stopping by and Chatting.

It won't be long before we are thinking of our get toether hunt.

whose scruffy looking???? LOL good talking to you again Jode...great display beautiful decoys as usual....Nice to meet Dave D too...great job on that boat...if I am not mistaken wasn't that boat hanging out of the back of a pickup truck two years ago at the show out on Route 9??? any way that boat came a long way from start to finish and it looks great...good luck this year with it..I will look forward to attending the get together this year....Dave

Bob, great photo-documentary... and John made an excellent spokesmodel...

I see Morton did NOT display his Kara this year... FYI, the Guinness people called (the world record folks) and asked about Morton's Kara... it is the longest build ever known in all of Kara land... I figured by the time Morton completes it, John will be of retirement age and we'll all be long gone.

Well worth the drive for sure.
