I expected it to be crowded but holy crap!!! I got there before they opened the doors and while I was talking to another guy I turned and saw the line going around the building and them some. Way to crowed. Show organizers should have limited how many people they let in at a time.

As far as prices go, that was another story. Everything was way over currenty inflated market price. Ruger 10/22 for $750, Ammo, .22lr Box of 100 for $25, .223 over $1 a round. I think if guys stop paying all these high prices for stuff it will help to get prices down. But I guess when you need what you need your willing to pay for it.

The only thing I walked out with was a used gun vise and 2 pr. of ear muffs. I was hoping to find a Henry or similar lever action 22 for one of my kids at a reasonable price but for the price they were selling used I could by a new gun from a local shop owner and save money. I tried to talk to one seller and after looking at the gun I asked how mush, when he told me I politely declined and said that was pretty steep. Then he says to me that one of these idiots here will buy it and tells me how he just sold another item that was priced more than twice what they were selling for on gun broker. They guy was actually bragging about taking someone for a ride. Now I know not all dealers are that way but this guy had no problem with his sales priactices. I asked him for his card and I said "I'll be sure to tell everyone I know about you." He said thanks, I replied "your welcome" , with a big smile. Obviously he didn't understand my point.

Everything appraerd to be way over MSRP or fair market value. I hope others were able to find a bargan because I couldn't. Did I mention everything was way over priced...

John,

Gun show prices always seem high. Back in the late 70's I was working at Kittery Trading Post while a gun show was going on in Portsmouth, NH. We had an office in Portsmouth so we could sell to a NH resident even though the show room was in ME. That weekend we had dealers from the show running into the store, buying our used gun inventory, at our retail sell price, and taking them back to the show to sell at inflated prices. The fools at the show could have driven 5 minutes and bought the same guns from us at the normal, lower price, and probably worked out a deal for a box or two of ammo thrown in with it.

Big markets get hit hard I guess. We had a gun show here this past weekend. I was picking up my boat so I couldn't go but my son and some of his friends went. Kyle's buddy picked up a new Armalite AR15 for a grand. He said there was plenty of standard sized ammo in .223, 22lr, .38, 9mm even .308 was available at resonable prices. He said the hard to get ammo was expensive though. He did say it was unbelievably crowded.

I went Sat. morning early, I could not even get a parking space, but once in side it was Gridlock & I mean Gridlock. At one point they were limiting admittance to the show. It was extremely impossible to speak to the vendors & view the Guns, etc., some prices seemed to be high, other venders were in line, plenty of ammo. Spoke to a couple of my friends who went Sun. a little less crowed, not much. Hope they can get a much larger venue for this Gun Show.

I never saw the Ruger 10/22 for $750, but I did go to Chesters Hunting & Fishing in Ronkonkoma 10 minutes from the show and they had the 10/22 there for $400. I pretty much have all the guns I "need" (notice the quotes), but always look and yes... prices were very high. We live in a free market economy and the market price is whatever someone will pay, thats good and bad.... Unfortunately, prices will not come down until this assault on our 2nd Amendment rights is over.

I spoke with the show owners and they let too many in initally and waited for some to leave to be in compliance with fire codes. They did not expect over 1400 to attend saturday. I was a vendor and bought ammo from a few dealers at what I thought was a fair price
I totally agree it was far too crowded. Couldn't talk to a few friends as it was so busy. Sunday was alot less crowded. More families attended.
