Well said, Derek! Family is always first and ducks can be hunted at another time. I hope the boys are weathering the storm!

Hey Capt. Jack,
I think we all saved a lot more shells this year then we would have liked to..!!!
I also had another day where I didn't have to clean my gun.!!

I too chose family over hunting this season. I only got to go duck hunting on day. My son's wrestling season, redoing a bathroom absorbed most of my free time. Yesterday was the last day of the duck hunting season and we finally got a cold front. I made the choice to take my 11 yr old to Comic Con in New Orleans. He had a blast - it meant a lot to him. I am sure there will be plenty of oppurtunities next year.

Worst season on record for me,few birds, river too high wrong wind most of the time. Geese not cooperative, their pattern has changed.
season total 3 drake woodies,4 drake ringnecks,2 drake mallards. Still i had fun and enjoyed my time on the river, looking forward to next year.
I put the boat away 3 days before the close, was glad i did more rain with the river even higher.
Will get back to working on a black cork decoy rig, mostly divers this year.
Bill.
