Lucky Me!

Got a letter from the Dept. of the Interior. Looks like I'll be sending in wings this year. Third time I've been asked. I guess you hunt long enough and the odds catch up. I think my first hunt was at age 16 or 17 and I'll be 50 soon. Weird to think that Thomas has over 10 years experience at the age I started. Food plots are in and blind work about to start. Good thing we get 10 months between the season because I need all of it to be ready.

They must be desperate in New England, Last year they had me do a log for RI and one for CT. Then this summer I got two requests for me to send wings in, each with a different different control number. One for the right wing and one for the left? Got to be a political joke there somewhere.

I have a dove wing survey coming for the second year in a row. I guess they figure if someone can follow the directions and not send them half rotten wings they'll keep sending envelopes.

Got the same letter this year, a little bit of work, but a good cause and it will be really cool to have the results.

I got picked too. First time ever in 20 years of duck hunting. Hopefully the season will be better this year than last year. The weather really screwed up the migration in New Jersey for sure.

All you need now are ducks to shoot at and then hit them and bring em home. Last year, had I been lucky to participate in this program they would have been disappointed in the number of wings I would have sent in.

I'm jealous. I've heard some people will pay big money for that signature. Spend the money on a frame. It's worth it...

Congrats Eric! It was neat to get the letter a few weeks back on the report from all of the birds I shot last year.
