They were built by the original company there and the original owner.
All of the non Maine boats were built by a company that didn't put the same time, effort, and "proper" materials into them that Christian did.

Ditto what Dave S. said. Both the Clark Brothers and Christian did an outstanding job on their boats. While Christian owned TDB, we were an authorized warranty service facility for them in Michigan so I got to see some of their boats....up close, first hand as a fiberglass man. 
I was always impressed with their work and attention to detail.
The company who makes them now......welll, they are not as concerned about quality...........and, as a manufacturer myself, I don't want to go much deeper into it, having had "hands on" with their boats also.
