Wooden boat had a write-up on the melonseed... an absolutely beautiful boat... naturally, they had pics of it sailing etc. would love to see one with duck blood gracing it...

Kind of funny...wooden boat has done articles on just about every type of working craft, yet Ive never seen an issue that had plans, etc. for traditional duckboats... a shame, really....

Your right Mr or Ms Miller, It makes me want to buy a subscription to that magzine and complain.

Your right,a little duck spore on deck would be a pleasant surprise.I talked to the largest builder of Melonseeds, over 450 in fiberglass w/teak trim and none were to clients that intended to use them for even an occasional duck hunt.I wish I could send pics of Marvin Spencer's Melonseed, with brite cedar decks but unable other than forwarding an Email on my equipment.I did send them to Bill Perry,so perhaps he could put them on the fourm. My idea is to have a cover made that would extend to the waterline,or close, pulled tight around the stern and covering the deck so that a Decoy rack could be made. The cover could be made in a dark grey color and would turn the boat into a camo sneak boat with protected decks.I want to do just that.
