Mojo Owners Beware

I just picked one up, and I was just wondering if anyone's had water (i.e. precipitation) get into their spinning wing decoy. It looks like their should be a drain hole at the end of the tail. I'm thinking of just drilling one in.

And please don't reply with any anti-electro-mechanical-decoy sentiments.

Drill a hole by the dink shaped thing...should do double duty, draining off water and also be great at attracting hermaphrodite ducks...

Brent I've had a Mojo for going on 4 seasons and it has been dunked so many times it isn't funny. Still runs fine, the remote doesn't work any more and had to replace the battery last year but other than that been fine , everytime it got dunked we just poared the water out and went on useing it.

Those motors will seize up if not drained and dried and left that way. Partner had a couple of non functional spinners couple days before season start and had to do some serious coaxing to get them to work again. I think a drain hold as mentioned would be a good idea. I would also bring them inside after any dunking or rain day to make sure they are dried out, we typically do this anyhow as they go back on the charger.

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised they didn't think to put a drain hole in them; given the geometry of the housing.
As a mechanical engineer, I know that a drain hole is a standard design feature to consider with many products....especially products designed to be used outside.
I'm also surprised that Mojo's owner's manual is basically non-existant. They sure don't include much documentation with their product.

At least they could have supplied a sufficient owner's manual with some grammar and spelling mistakes (from converting it from Chinese). Those manuals always crack me up.
EX.: "Welcome on your pirchase of......"

Ha! Good one.
Would you count a hermaphrodite as a hen or drake???

I think you took my words the wrong way, a simpler fix for that NASTY thing is to go with Paul's suggestion.

Chuck

Oh, I thought you were making a joke about the power button looking like a male organ, and then with a hole drilled into it, it would be as if it also had a female organ.
I thought it was funny.

I didn't quite get Paul's suggestion.

A few years ago while hunting late season, my Brother had his mojo out in the big river in front of our farm house on the St Clair River, and a lake freighter came up river and broke up all the shore ice and we were so busy scattering to get our decoys before they got to deeper water we forgot about the mojo...about 15 minted later, once we realized it was missing, here it was in 3' of water spinning away...we lifted it out, opened the hatch, drained the water and it worked perfectly the rest of the day...so yes, I would say the motor is sealed..
