Hey everyone,

A bit of sad news from us here today.

I had to put Ol’ Alex down, and it is a drag.

We’re going to miss him very much.

He was a wonderful companion, a true friend, and a good boy.

Wish him good luck on the journey he is on if you have a moment.

Best,

Todd,
I always felt like I was along on the hunts with the two of you when you wrote about them.
I am very sorry to hear about Alex.

Brandon

Todd,
I looked back at your old posts looking for something about Alex to hopefully put a smile on your face for at least a moment.

This is part of the first post you made about Alex although I assume there were more on the older version of the board.

[font=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]Alex would disappear and i’d start to wonder if he was lost
or on scent somewhere
just about when i’d get ready to yell out for him
he’d pop out of the greenery about 30 feet away

his long pink tongue like a flag
his ancient scarred & seed covered face seemed to have a dog smile on it

this is what he was made to do
he is a working dog

and is not happy unless he is at work
he can chase cows or sheep or coyotes

he can fetch papers or fowl
or defend the home front

it is his calling to work
i am lucky he chose to work with me

it seemed good to walk those fields with those old dogs again

The good news is that he had a fulfilling life. The better news is that your mind has been packed with rich memories of each hunt that you two enjoyed together. Those will live forever within you.

Todd, I am sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed reading about your adventures together. Alex seemed had a full & happy life, lived like a king.

I am so sorry Todd. Though I don't really know you or knew Alex, I feel a sense of loss as well from all your past posts and pics. Alex will live on in those beautiful stories. Trip.

Todd, You will miss him but he is not gone, your memories will keep him close, So sorry for your loss. Now he can play with my 3 boys waiting for all of us at the rainbow bridge. He was one lucky boy.

Todd,
I am very sorry to hear about Alex. He was a great dog! I will get my Belle a corn dog in his honor on the way home from work today. Shawn

Sorry for your loss Todd.

I really enjoyed reading the exploits of you and he.

I'm gonna miss them.

My friend once said to me "I guess if there's silver lining to the life-span of dogs, it's that if they lived as long as we do we might only get to love one or two in our lifetime. "

So true.

Jon

My heartfelt condolences on your loss, Todd. Nothing better than fresh puppy breath to help heal your heart.

Todd,

They never live long enough and when they die it hurts.

Like others have said, your writings of your adventures with Alex have been a blessing to me and I always felt like I was along with both of you.

Thanks for sharing him with us,

Tom
