I have a Simplicity tractor that has 20 - 8 - 8 size tires. I want to get some ag type tires for it but can't find any with that exact terminology. I found some at TSC that are 20 - 10 - 8 . Is the last number wheel diameter? I figgured the 20 was the tire diameter..the second number the tire width and the third number was the wheel dia. ..am I right? If so, could I put a wider tire on my wheel? Thanks, this is bugging me since I couldn't find the answer on any tire manuf. site.

Lee,

I think you are correct. The ATV tires I bought last summer for my Rokon have that same designation. If you go to a wider tire check out any possible interference issues under fenders, etc. Not sure how much wider you can go and still get a good bead seal or if that is even an issue. I guess if it were me, I'd call your local gardentractorfixerupper guy and ask him. OR call Simplicity direct. Their number is 262-284-8669, Port Washington, WI.

You gonna getter fixed up and do some pullin at the county fair? I'm waiting for them to have some draft horse pulls so I can compete.

Mark, while looking for info I came across a garden tractor pull site..holy crap! Those guys get serious! My cousin is into old tractors and told me about the garden tractor nationals..1 cylinder ..mostly Kohler..putting out a 170 hp. He said there were bolts all the way through from the head to the bottom of the crank case that held those IED's together. We got horse pulls at our county fair..got a matched team of Belgians??

Pete, I scoured Simplicities site and couldn't find any info like this..I called 3 times and left messages twice and hung up the third time. I figured someone her would know..best site on the internet for almost any kind of info!

Lee, we get their catalog at work. A ton of tire stuff related to farm type use.
Price is not the lowest going but the phone service is very good. They have a web catalog too.
Have a great new year.

Thanks Bob, I'll get on their site and do a look-see. Happy New Year to you too..Our season comes back in the 31st and 1st for ducks and am hoping to get the grandson out 1 more time. With this warm weather, the lake shouldn't be frozen.

Mr. Mcgee, not sure how to add a linky thingee..google in "garden tractor pulling" and you get about a million pages devoted to it. I think the site I got on was Mark's pulling site and accessories. Can you say "cub cadet smoking 44" monster mudders"?

I've tried copy/paste..do you have to do it in the attachment box?

Bob, went to Gemplers site and they had the answer to my question ...I guess I was right in my assumption..but ya know what ya get when you lose umption....thanks tons for that site.

Remember they had a ton of tire info in the master catalog. McMaster carr has better pricing on a lot of stuff, but gemplers has quite a few unique items.
Tractor pull site is nuts.
