NDR - Kids camping and fishing

Hi,

Since this seems like the week to share kids pictures I thought I would share these. The bride was off on a girls weekend so the kids and the dog and I headed out to get dirty.

This is what the boy looked like after only 4 hours of camping without his mother around.

During the heat of the day we headed up into the mountains to fish the little creeks and JD caught his first fish on a fly rod. His sister caught quite a few to, of course this is the day I forgot the camera in the truck. At least I was able to save the fly from his first fly rod fish.

These pictures were from a little casting practice on the main river. Madison is like her mother and can actually throw a pretty nice loop. JD doesn't want any instruction what so ever. I wonder where he got that?

The Okanagon is just such a beautiful place.

That is pretty! If I remember correctly you are in eastern Washington. Are you going for trout or small mouth bass?

Ray,

I live in very SE Washington, Pullman, WA home of Washington State University. Go Cougs! The pictures came from north central Washington in the Methow Valley. We were fishing for trout. In the creeks we caught both westslope cuts and brookies. In the main river we caught westslopes, rainbows, and bull trout.

OK.....now who was near someones home port and didn't even say hello?

Looks like a good time was had by all.....especially the boy, you can't be that dirty and not have had a good time gettin that way.

See any grouse up there?

Gregg,

Guilty as charged. In my defense I didn't drive right through your home town. We missed it by a good 30 miles.

We did see a few ruffs, but no blues or spruces. I think after the fires in the Pasayten last year that next year may be a great grouse year. We did see a badger, which was a big hit with the kids.

My best,

Don
