Need Help with sneakbox restoration

I just picked up a Charles Hankins 12 sneakbox. Pretty much everything is rotted except the ribs. The bottom planks are toast. I'm planing on sheathing the top with plywood. My question is can i sheath the bottom with plywood also instead of re-planking it with cedar? I'm going to glass all of it anyway. I was thinking 1/4 inch. Any help hint or sugestions are welcome as i've never taken on a project like this.

Derek if you pick up John Gardners "Building Classic Small Craft" at the library or buy it. He tells about covering a BBSB with Plywood. Basically take good marine plywood eight foot sheets and scarf them so you have longer than 12 ft. and cut them in to strips and put down like cedar. He goes into more detail in his book. Note. he was behine the times as far as fiberglassing but you can find that information else where. good luck on your restoration and post pictures.
