Need you folks to keep eyes open......stolen decoys

A good buddy of mine has a place up in Saginaw Bay on the lake. He's been out of state and his place has been broken into a couple times. Just recently, cose to 10 dozen of his E. Allen Decoys (all painted by myself for him) have been stolen. I have pics of the last 4 dozen I painted for him last year as evidence/verification if found. If anything shows up on the market...at below going prices or suspicious circumstances.......please give me a shout.
Thanks all,
Lou Tisch

That's really sad. I can imagine how many hours of work he put into those decoys.
I'll keep my eyes open.

Question ? what kind? Blue bills, Mallards,

Bluebills, Cans & Redheads. I believe also some GE & Buffy. I'll post up some pics later when I get to the shop and my laptop.

join the aclub!
Hope he was insured---Get to work, fella! Replacement is always a bit higher than original----most likely, they will disappear into the hinterlands, Lou--Never saw hide nor hair of stuff taken ten years ago---tell your bud to submit to his homeowner's insurance, though!

Only the lowest form of life steals and ones that steal decoys are even lower than that ! I hate a thief. Hope the decoys are recovered quickly and the culprit deal with to the maximum extent of the law.

Grorge is correct, they should be covered under a homeowners policy - personal property section. A deductible will most likley apply though.

Did he have any kind of brand or mark on the bottom of the decoys to determine ownership?

No brand but my signature is on most of them.......LMT and a date. Unfortunately, that can be painted over very easily.

BTW....your FME is on the way...should get to you on Friday. I'd have included your email for notification but my email program corrupted and I can't get to any of my mail or address book......doh. Tonight I'll be trying to rectify that. Lou

I know his pain. I will PM you with some info that may help him. I never found any of my birds

Jason,
Thanks for the email info. I'll follow through with my buddy on that too.
Sorry none of your birds have ever surfaced either....bummer.
Just over a year ago, my wife's '99 Chevy Tahoe was stolen right out of our driveway at 3 O'clock in the morning. Never found a trace of it. We did settle with the insurance company but they stiffed us for about $2k on the deal. So much for being with AAA since '69.

Lou,
Have your friend put an ad in the local papers offering a reward for info leading to arrest and conviction of said dirt bag, listing what was taken. For what it is worth these type of folks typ. have "Friends" who would gladly take a few bucks rolling a partner. Chances are good that whoever it was has told someone that they took the stuff.
Good luck.
