Well I drove up to Sandwich Mass. today to pick up our new pup Big Gus (Lou Tisch, does that name sound familar)At 8 weeks old 161/2 pounds a reel bruser. Cindy our 13 year old Chessie seem to be tolerating him well. My wifes cat Kissy, not so well. I'll try to post some pictures

Congrads on the pup Jack. Now the fun begins. Are you going to train him yourself. If so, I have hooked up with a few guys from the LIHRC and we train in the Calverton area on the weekends. Shoot me a PM if you want to come out.

Congrats Capt. Jack and best wishes with the pup!

By the way, when does wire line season start heating up for you guys?

Jack good luck with Gus, he was the vocal one of the bunch and the coat should be perfect for duck hunting. Hope the trip back was good with the pup. My trip back was one hour twenty minutes and my pup Tuck didn't sleep a wink. Tuck is 17 pounds and solid should be a good hunter. Sleeping like a champ right now will post some pictures later...

Hey CJ Good luk with Tuck Gus slept a little on the Ferry ,He was a perfict gentleman and boy did he attrack the Babes. Oh if I was only 40 years younger

Jack,
I think you may have a litter mate of another very good friend of mine. Capt Joe Rendiero of Stonington just got a pup and I am pretty sure it came from Ma.
I will check in the AM when I see him. My kids have been looking at pictures for a few weeks and are dying to see the real thing.
Good luck with the first few nights sleep.
Next time you go thru New London you got to stop in and see us.

Thanks guys I'll try to post some pictures. Last night not a peek out of him. I had him down to the boat today, I think he found out that Montauk was made for Chessies. He got his feet and belly wet. Gus is Brown with a white star on his chest hes got a great personality and he lets me roll him over for belly rubs. I could never do that with Jake

Capt. Jack:

Wish I had known you were going to be in Sandwich, I would of bought ya lunch. I don't post to often on this site but read it often. I saw those Chessie pups advertized at the local Vet, seems like a real good breeder. Let me know how your new pup does, a buddy of mine is recently lost his Chessie and is looking for a new pup.

A bit about me.. I live in Sandwich, hunt throughout Cape Cod but have a few trips out to western US and Canada. Like you, besides duck hunting, my other passion is sportfishing. I have a 45 foot Ocean and regularly fish the Canyons, and a few of the tourney's around. I have fished out of Star Island on a few of there tourney's but not sure about this year. May run down to Montauk at some point this season depending on offshore water temps...

It would have been nice to meet you we did have lunch a Lindseys. The Fish and Chips and Ipswich clams were great. If you come down to Star Island Yacht Club for the Tourniment. Be sure to come over to the Charter boat dock and say hello. I'm the middle charter Boat there at SIYC the "Windy". I'll introduce you to Gus He'll be about 4 months by then. I got Gus from Eric Stella a real nice guy with a great attitude towards his dogs. I searched long and hard to find somebody I felt comfortable with. So many of the breeders wouldn't let me see the pups they would pick out the pup for me and ship it to me. That may be the way it works for a lot of peaple but not for me. I guess I'm old fashioned, I like to see what I'm buying. Its a little different with a puppy, than ordering a pair of waders from Cabelas
