No hunting for me for a few days

Cut my hand so bad on a bow string that I can’t hold a gun or bow. No ducks at either of my Illinois farms anyway so I used today to upgrade some old decoys that I had. I got the grandkids to assist. We did a couple dozen mallards and redheads in about an hour.
Maybe when I get old, they will remember me when I get old and take me hunting a time or 2.
8 year old Hunter aka “Catfish” applies the paint. Tries real hard not to cover the eyes and white neck ring.

4 year old Bryant, aka Bear, applying the flock. According to him, this makes the ducks look “softer”.

Well Mike, I had no idea your were that "warm and fuzzy."
I can see that your grandchildren will have a lot of great memories. Good for you (and them).

Hope everything heals up quick.

Hey Mike , I was wondering why I haven't heard from you, what the heck happened? Clint and I hunted this a.m. tons of snows and puddlers in the middle of the lake. Not flying ... too warm I guess . We'll give it a try again tomorrow, see what happens. Heal up so we can make a hunt or two,it should get better toward the end of the month. Take care.

Very happy to see that you can get your grand children interested in helping to do your decoys. These days prying children away from computers and tv is very difficult but more and more essential to the continuation of our hunting heritage.
