Pillow Talk

Probably a weird rambling… but how many people are OCD about their pillows? And How many travel with them? As I have gotten older my neck, shoulders and upper back bother me more and more.

I have tried just about every pillow except for the Purple Harmony. Right now I’m settled on the Zoned Dough Bamboo pillows.. Tempurpedics were too firm (although I love my mattress) .. The as seen on TV “My Pillows” were too tall / made my neck hurt worse and was subsequently given to my cat as a bed ….

I don’t get a lot of sleep between shifts and when I finally do.. I really want the best sleep I can get .

About to start traveling more for work and looking to also upgrade my pillows for duck camp. Anyone using the Purple Harmony ? Or have any thoughts?

Interesting, I can't help since I don't give pillows much thought other than when I'm travelling and they are too thick. I like a nice thin worn out pillow.

I haven't heard of the purple harmony, but am going to check it out. I am picky about my pillows, when we travel I have yet to find one in a hotel that I like. We use down pillows at home. My wife and I are both stomach sleepers, the down pillows are super soft so they don't hurt our necks. Eider down pillows are the best, but you need a second mortgage to afford them. Goose down, second choice.

I do not travel with pillows - but am nevertheless OCD about them at home. I have 3 (or 4, really): two for my neck, a big one for between my knees (to ease/avoid lower back pain) - and the 4th is for my Kindle when I am reading on my left side. I do not know if my recurring wrist aches are caused by reading - but they only occur when I am resting - and sometimes hurt too much to hold the Kindle without Pillow support.

No pillows in my duckboats, but a camping pad, cushioned backrest and even a blanket or 2 have been useful over the seasons.

All the best,

SJS

My wife splurged on Ralph Lauren goose down king size pillows for us a few years back. I love mine.
I always stay at Hampton Inn when on business travel. Each bed has 4 pillows and it seems like a mix of firmness and thickness, I find the one that suits me best and throw the rest on the other bed.
