I was at the LI Zone Task Force this morning and these are the proposed seasons we came up with;
Regular Duck, Nov 27 - Jan 25
Youth Day, Nov 22 & 23
Regular Canada Goose Season
Western Zone, Oct. 11-19, Nov. 27-Mar 4
Eastern Zone, Dec 3-Jan 31
Central Zone, Nov. 7-Feb. 4
Late Canada Goose Season on North Shore, Feb. 5-10
Brant Nov. 27-30, Dec. 10-Jan 25
Sea Duck, Oct. 17-Jan. 31
Snow Goose, Nov. 24- Mar. 10

Personally, I hate the fact that duck and goose have different opening days in the eastern zone.

I assure you that your concerns were brought up. The suggestion to open and close on the same date as ducks was not accepted because by opening and closing goose later, hunters are given the opportunity for more days on the water.
