reaking down beretta 390 question?

In breaking down my 390 to clean how do I extract the cocking handle from the breech bolt slide? The manual shows just pulling it back---is that correct? With my luck the past several weeks I don't want to screw up the gun. Thanks anyone!

Is that the same bolt style as the Benelli and Franchi?
If so, then it does just pull out.
I just bought a Franchi I-12 for my kid. It was hard to get that handle out with just my fingers.
My Benelli comes out easier.
So if the manual says pull it out, then you may have to use pliers with a protective covering over the handle.
I used a little patch of leather so i wouldn't gouge it up

If you're pulling it out for the first time alot of time it can take some force. There's been a couple that I've actually had to wrap w/ a rag and grab w/ a pair of pliers to pull out.

If you're breaking the action down completely, as in, taking out the bolt, COCK THE GUN FIRST! The hammer needs to be back, else cursing happens. Then you have to jam your finger inside the ejection port and manually push the hammer waaaay back till it cocks. Almost ruined the prospects for opening day last year.

[font=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]I don't think the handle pulls out the same way in the AL2. It looks to be riding in a grove within the receiver.

I found that out the hard way. Rereading the manual I discovered it had to be cocked and finally removed the trigger mechanism and cocked the damn thing and then everything else went smooth. Thanks for your comment.

I can't help you with the AL2 but there has to be someone on this forum that has one and could help?
