It was a beautiful day in Kansas yesterday; sun shining, 50 degrees and winds out of the southwest. I skipped out of work after lunch and headed for Kyle Marsh off Perry Lake. Sat up in the brush on the east side of the marsh.
The setup:
The Robber:
Got set up and then laid down for a nap until the sun started going down. 1/2 before sundown the geese starting coming in, but the ducks didn't come in until right at sundown. The only duck to work the decoys was a hen mallard: didn't want to shoot a hen, wanted her to land and call other ducks in. No such luck.
We had a gorgeous sunset, wish I could shoot pictures like Hitch. Had quite a few teal and shovelers still hanging around, not as many mallards as we usually have this time of year. Didn't fire my gun but it was a pretty good afternoon.
