I am surely depressed. The season is not only dwindling down, but mine is over. Time to go to work and make some big bucks. This season definately was not my record for harvests but that doesn't matter, normally I try to hunt 3-5 days a week and this year with diving, our baby on the way, and the lack of time I was only getting an average of about two hunts in a week. I know its great practice for when the little man arrives so I am not too bummed. This year was my first season without a boat in five years, so I stuck mostly to greenheads. Here are a few pics of some of the hunts. Of course I found my camera two weeks ago after missing it all season.
My favorite duck is a ruddy and I finally harvested one on my last hunt of the season, I have made a point to target them and every year and to harvest a few, this year was the first year I couldn't get to any and this one came nicely into the diver spread.
I also have a personal rule of harvesting the last bird of the season means that should be my first harvest of next season, so since I am a pud hunter on opener, I try to harvest a teal, wig, or mallard. Nope this year was a bull hoody...easy task in October? I think not lol.
Enjoy the pics and for you who have a hunt or two left in season...well, jealousy is horrible but I still hate you!
good luck and be safe.
