Seasons winding down

Hi,

We got out for a short hunt today. Aspen and I get most of our birds through brute force and ignorance. Today was no different. The weather over the last 6 weeks has knocked the open cover down to nothing. The birds are hiding in the thick stuff. I had been saving todays cover for Sutton but life has kept getting in the way of both us having a free enough schedule to get together. We had numerous birds in the air, but I only connected on one. I seemed to be on the wrong side of a tree, bound up in the brush, falling down in a big snow drift, staring directly into the sun... This part of the country is pretty hilly and with 8" of hard crusted snow it seemed like work at times today. Still a beautfiful day and I am glad I made the effot to get out and ignored the chores.
