So who has what for duckboats out there? Post up a pic and a short description of the boat, what motor you run, what type of hunting you do and where. it should be interesting to see all the different types of boats out there.

Here is mine, a Long Island made 13ft "Marsh Hawk" duckboat which I believe was originally made by the Great River Canoe Company, mine was made by Rick Born of Copaigue, NY (who is a member here). I run a 25hp, 2 stroke, short shaft Yamaha and hunt it in the bays, tidal marshes and estuaries of Long Island. Occassionally I take it upstate NY to hunt some of the smaller Finger Lakes.

Well, I'm currently fortunate enough to have 2 duckboats, both built by me-

Modified Devlin Black Brant 3, currently with a 14hp home built longtail mud motor-love this boat, my first boat build, really wanting a 24hp longtail for it. Great fun to run and hunt out of. Can haul 3 people, gear, dog, and decoys with no problems. Going to work on a folding blind for it, also I want to build a removable cradle for hauling a layout boat so I can use her as a layout tender.

12'9 sneakboat, my own design, running a 15hp longtail-I really love this boat, have hunted almost exclusively out of it this year, can carry 2 guys, dog, and gear comfortably, disappears in the marsh.

This spring I'm hoping to add a Devlin Poleboat to the fleet for hunting motorless areas of some of our WMAs-then I'll have all my bases covered! Actually if I could somehow work it out to build a boat or two a year I would be a happy man-I love building them almost as much as using them.

Zack Taylor wigeon built to specs in book, except I cedar decked the topside rather than plywood. 1963 Johnson 3hp runs like a champ. A very slow champ. But I like it that way...you guys can have the speed demons, I'll just get out of bed a little earlier.

That's really nice Bill! Every time I check out "Successful Waterfowling" from the local library I spend hours staring at the plan for the Wigeon. Nice to see one in 3-D!

My boat is a '59 Aerocraft, it is 12 ft long and weighs #105. It is powered by a 9.9 Merc with a 3 gal tank. The blind is from Flyway Specialties. Typically I hunt alone but I can squeeze a close friend in if I have to.

12ft glass over cedar sneakbox built by Capt. Bob Fricke
15 hp yamaha two stroke
95% puddle duck hunting in all three NJ zones from flooded timber to the coast

Every season I get recognized at least once at a ramp from this website.

I like it a lot! It's easy to put up and take down. This is the first blind that I have used, we've always just pulled into the weeds and sat in the boat. With this blind, we can float the larger water and still stay hidden.

I regret not placing the pivot points farther apart, it would be easier to get back in the boat. I have camo netting attached to the frame and then zip tied the grass to the netting. If you purchase one, let me know, I'll give you a few tips that I learned the hard way.

Dave.... tell us about the camo on your boat.

The material covering the boat came from an Avery Pop up boat blind. It is a die-cut cloth sewn to a net backing. For the roll up cockpit cover, I used the same material but sewed it to a water and wind proof backing.
