Bryce has been one of my best friends since childhood. Since I started carving, he's been asking me for a woodduck. He is set to be married here today in south jersey. Opening day of our duck season. I thought it only fitting to present him with this drake on the morning of our hunt. Not many ducks were flying, but somehow he managed to scratch out a beautiful drake woody. Great ending to the hunt and a great way to start of his day. Here's the pics













 
Don't know if a man can have a much better day than that!
He is going to wash up & change before the wedding, right??? :)

I am concerned, though, that the Groom may have overdone it with his makeup.....

He is a better man than me, getting married during duck season. I went to great lengths to have my wedding when our anniversaries would never impact hunting or fishing. That left something like five weekends to choose from!
 
That Is a very special gift indeed. A gift that will be treasured in hand, head and in heart for many years to come.

On a side note, thirty-four years ago today, on our opening Saturday, I married my sweatheart. Hunted for several hours in the morning, got married in the afternoon. I guess it's not been so bad though since she always tells me "I'm glad you like to duck hunt, so you have something to do when you travel to all of these duck hunting destinations with me"

Good luck in the coming years to your friend. Hope he has all of the enjoyment out of being married I've had.

Thanks a lot guys for the kind words! Luckily, the groom showered and changed and had a great wedding. Was a great day all around.
