Spring is in the air...

Signs of spring around here - The ice is starting to break up in front of Jane's cabin. We saw a swan today. The city has finally shown up to plow the street for the first time this winter, despite record snow fall. Now that the streets are scraped, there will be lots of little kids out on their bikes - snowsuits and bike helmets here are like daffodils and Robins down south. Our street hockey season is over. : )

The last week here in the middle of wis, has broken Winter back. Yesterday was 70 unusual for this time of the year. Last monday I was talking about ice fishing. After today it wouldn't be safe to venture out on the ice. I saw a flock of cranes heading North this morning. Geese have been around for a week. Our first thunder storms last night.

West of you Mike we have been getting down to 0 deg F in the mornings then by noon it is up to 25 to 30 deg F with bright sun. It makes it hard to know which coat to wear when leaving the house. The parka for the 2 block walk to the office in the AM and then a sweater for going home. Gotta love March up here.

It has been so warm I'm about ready to get my little pontoon out and try for crappies. Even have a daffodil blooming.
Now watch us get a foot of snow. hehehe

Tell me about it. It's been in the mid eighties during the day, and warm enough to have coffee outside in the morning in shorts and sans shoes. That's my definition of spring. Bluebirds are going nuts. Hummingbirds are back. Dogwoods are having an excellent bloom this year. Here's a pic of some along my driveway. Hard to do them justice with a camera.
