Here are a few pics from tonights progress (it is only 10:00 PM here on the west coast so I may get more done). All "30 trillion" of the staples have been removed and the tape is hiding some epoxy filler in the transition joint. Next step is a full sanding of the hull and fairing of all the f-ups. The bow mold will stay but will have a rounded "nose" attached just prior to glassing.

Cool stuff Derek.

What plans are you using?

I have plans for a merrymeeting strip build I'm gonna do one of these summers.

Nice!

Is this your first stripper? I think you are at my favorite part, smoothing and glassing the outside of the hull. Which is followed by my least favorite part, smoothing and glassing the inside of the hull.

Keep up the good work!

Chuck-
Not my first strip boat, i have built two kara-like hybrids, a couple of kayaks and a canoe in the past. First BBSB design though. I dont mind the finishing the inside on a large hull like this, its harder on a kayak in my opinion.

Dave-
the design is my own. I couldnt find anything I wanted and resorted to lofting up what I think will work for me. We will see! I want to do a scull boat this summer, similar to the whitney seacoast, but have not had any luck on plans. Might have to come up with my own design on that as well. cant wait to see your build.
