Thanks Ed Kavanagh!!!!

Had the pleasure of hosting Ed K at the end of December for a couple of days in NJ. Since he has relatives in the area, we usually try to hunt at least once a year. We made it to the salt one day for some layout gunning, and the next day sat for geese. Salt was fun as Ed was able to get a longtail and a double on banded brant! The goose hunt was exciting, but at the end we decided we needed more cover. Opinions were varied as to which concealment system was best (layout blinds, pits etc........).

Got home from work friday night and there is a big box on the porch from Cabelas with my name on it! Thanks Ed for the awesome goose blind! I promise when you come up, I won't make you sit in the kiddie sled anymore!!!!

Best Regards-

John T.

John-
I think Ed's living it up with the wife in Carmel/Monterey this week. I got an e-mail from him the other day that looked reminiscent of someone on the verge of relocating to CA.

Derek-

If the stories Ed told me are true about the SAC Valley, then I really can't blame him at all!!!! Not sure who has it better, you or the Oregon boys, but I'm leaning towards you.

Take care-

John T.

I wouldnt vote for CA this year. We have not had any rain and it has been the worst duck season (for me) ever. We finally have some birds up here, but nothing close to years past. The klamath basin had a good year from what I saw early on (I hunt it the first two months of the season) and from hunters I know up there.

Ed is spending to much time in the central coast, which I personally thnk is one of the most beautiful parts of the country. I have a wager going he will "move" soon.

Hope all is well.
