Traveling Decoy - James' Last Season Visit

Well, it's over finally. Been a tough year, both weatherwise as well as duck numbers.

James made it just in time to get a couple hunts in before calling it good. We hunt the Colorado River and many of it's backwater tributaries. The GE's have been kind of scarce lately, so we went with the widgeon & redhead decoys. Unfortunately, the wind blew unbelieveably hard and the birds didn't move much.

Friday evening before being forced back to the launch ramp....

Saturday morning brought the same conditions. After hunting for a hour or so, we decided to head westward to the Imperial Valley and see if the snow/ross' geese were doing their thing. James would be staying dry for this hunt. The geese were there!

We ran out of time to set up for a duck hunt, so at that point in time, the season was placed in the history books!

Couple other random pics

Glad you guys can think outside the box...

Nice pics Grant, glad you could get James into some final blood this season out there on the Best Coast.
