Traveling Decoy Update

The decoy arrived safe and sound at its first destination last Friday afternoon. Unfortunately we left for the MN opener Friday morning. We missed each other by a few hours.

Got back late Sunday from the opener, which was a typical western MN opener with lots of teal flying around and many not making it out of the slough. Good time had by all and many more memories shared that will live on forever and ever.

WI opener is this coming Saturday and the TD will be making the trip. It will be the first time I hunt out of our cabin and a first time the TD will see action. I hope to report great success with pictures to follow.

Once again, I am in awe of the talent many on this site possess to create these works of art. I think this is the second decoy of Chris's that I will have the opportunity to hunt over and I didn't think it possible but this one is even nicer than the earlier mallard. Chris - it is a beautiful decoy and I am grateful for the opportunity to hunt over it. You have a talent that I envy and the generosity to donate it to this annual event very gracious.

So, Thank you Chris for the decoy and Thank you Chuck for organizing the event once again. For those who have not participated in this event, you really should sign up next year. Always brings a smile to my face throwing it out first thing in the morning. I am embarrassed to place any of these decoys among my store purchase plastic ducks and do try to put some space between them.

Everyone who is going out this weekend have a safe hunt. Will report back Monday.
