I went deer hunting this morning and decided to take a walk around and check out a couple of duck blinds. The water is so low many of the interior island blinds aren't accessible. This is why we don't use wooden boats on the Mississippi River in my area. Prior to the DNR putting a stop to using metal in building supplies for building blinds people used anything they had laying around. Lots of T posts and chicken wire were the norm when I was a kid and young adult. The river here is about 3 feet low right now but when it's up it's common to run into many things that will puncture a boat. But there are lots of deer around.
