Hello all,
I recently took a trip with my ole' Labrador pup sidekick up to the legendary Pencil Brook Farm in South Cambridge, NY where renowned artist, decoy carver, waterfowler & duck boat enthusiast Steven Jay Sanford resides. Like previous visits, I was thoroughly impressed with the usual sights and in awe of the scenery. This was a planned trip to embark on our upcoming 2024 presentation towards the LIDCA show featuring the Pattersquash Gunners Assoc. I was also in search for obtaining some b-roll footage of the carving, duck boat restorations, shop layout and all the many, many projects scattered throughout the land.

As always Steve welcomed me with open arms and I enjoyed an afternoon of capturing a look inside the world away from it all. Here's a peek at some of the images obtained from the visit and I will have some additional footage from the visit released later this month. Truly in awe at the precision to detail and I feel many would enjoy just as much as I have... enjoy!
First to put in perspective, Steve was kind enough to provide a map of the layout of the land! (Below)
Heaven in the country....
The Capt'
At Work..
The Current Project In The Restoration Bay...
As seen, many many, many, decoys scattered throughout! Here's the current project lineup..
Looking out towards the South end of the shop, awaits the lineup of the fleet of projects awaiting including some South Bay Boats, Armstrong Broadbill & 1957 Aluminum Pleasure-craft with a rich history...
The tools of the trade...
It's all in the details....
Explaining each vessel, & what will need to be done on the road to recovery here at the farm.. waiting for their turn in the restoration bay.
