Way to go Cabelas....

Based on those who offered their opinions during the wader thread I ordered a pair of Cabelas Supermag 1600 waders. I hate ordering stuff sight unseen but with as many of you offering good comments on these I went ahead and ordered a pair. My first thought was these are a very high quality product coming from the pacific rim. I really like the number and sizes of the varies pockets and the clipon shell belt holds a full box of shells. Another thing I like is the shoulder straps are wide enough to be comfortable yet still offering buckles rather than velcro closure. I ordered the stout in my regular shoe size with hopes the size reflected western sizes and the boot would be large enough for 2 pairs of insulated socks. I am pleased to say there is more than enough room for me as well as my hunting coat stuffed inside the waders and the boot fits very well with adeqaute room for socks. On top of it all, I ordered these on Tuesday and they were at the door tonight when I got home. Can't ask for more than that. Now the temps are a bit warm for 5mm waders but I'm heading out for the weekend after work tomorrow and they are going to get a try out this weekend. If anyone is still on the fence about waders it's just mho but I give these 2 thumbs up!

You will love these waders. They are also very tough!

I fell on a very sharp stick with all my wieght and I didn't even have a little snag in the material.

I was amazed, thought for sure I'd have a branch sticking into the side of my leg HAHA!

Going on my 9th season with mine a little hole in the right leg but nothin bad at all great waders!

Too bad you don't need them this year. One day of hunting with the temps in the 30's and that was yesterday.

I have these waders and have for many seasons - they are great. One thing I don't like is the buckle straps. On these waders, if you don't have each strap exactly right, one side seems looser than the other and the straps fall off your shoulder. It is a constant struggle to keep the straps on and comfortable. I thought it was me and then two of my buddies with the same waders mentioned the same thing. It got so bad that I just kept the straps of and used a wader belt to hold them up.

Came up with a solution this year. Just take a cord or shoestring and wrap it around each strap. Take both ends of the cord and run them a cord lock. Pull the cord tight and it pulls the straps together. Never have to worry about them coming off or loose again.
