That was a fun trip, but man am I tired of talking to Mexicans. "So cheap, almost free!" "Special price for you...""You need information?" But really, we all had a blast. Every second person I met down there was from Michigan. The heaviest drinkers were from Minnesota. Lots of Canadians too.

We stayed in a resort just north of Playa del Carmen (Mayan Palace) and rented a car so we could explore a bit. We went to Tulum, Xel Ha, Xcaret, Aukmaal, Cozumel, Peurto Morales, and Playa del Carmen often for supplies at the Mexican Walmart. There was a real Walmart their too, but the Mexican one was more fun. We tried fishing in a bunch of places but it didn't really work out because all the nice bays were surrounded by hotels and had 1000 tourists in the way. We went out in a boat just the one day and only caught a mackeral and a barracuda. We spent most days snorkelling.

I found the topless beach but it was a wrinklefest the first week. The second week a younger crowd showed up, so that was a bit better. I saw alot of man boobs too - not cool. I made this "sandcastle" as a decoy to get the ball rolling...

Its good to be home to tons of snow and cold. Actually, it was really nice today and was almost melting in the sun. Four more months until spring! : )

See Mike, I told you that you would find the nudey beach if you looked hard enough.

Did you hear about the two old guys that went to the senior nude beach at Cancun? They were sitting on their beach towels when two senior women jogged past them. The one old man said Joe did you see that? I don't think they were wearing anything! Joe looks at Dave and says....whatever they were wearing sure needed IRONING!

Ya had a good time and I'm sure we will see more of your trip photo's and find out how you guys did fishing. That must have been a shock to go from sunny warm beaches to snowbound Whitehorse? It was sure Spring here today Mike........73 degrees at the trap range and the grass is so green it hurts your eyes to look at it.

Welcome back Mike....I've been waiting for a report.

Hope to see some more pictures. It's finally spring here, but tropical pics are never frowned upon.

Glad you had a good trip. We head out for Jamacia next Wednesday. Can't wait to get away form the rat race for awhile.

What did you think of Tulum? Next time you venture that direction I'll send a link to a beach resort we know of outside of Tulum. My son's been there several times and told us about it. We were going to go there this year then decided on Jamacia instead.

Thanks guys, it is good to be home, I'm not even dreading going to work this morning.

It was windy everyday we were down there, but we went out for a try one day and caught a barracuda and a mackeral. We shouldn't have gone though, it was too rough. Mac got scared and I puked. Dave, I tried your flies but no luck. I don't think it was the bait but the location.

Surf fishing near our hotel. All we saw was trigger fish in the wavevs, but they weren't interested in anything Mac or I threw at them. It was fun casting though. Lots of guys stopped to talk to us.

Meg prefered to fish off the dock at the hotel. We caught a bunch of little perch looking things and a couple of bigger silver ones.

That looked like a nice trip. When you left we got the largest snow storm of the year. Now it's turned around, 50 degrees today very warm for this time of the year in the middle of Wis. Winter isn't quiet over yet.The middle of April for us. There predicting snow for Wed. Thurs.

Looks like a fun trip. Too bad about the lack of fishing success. Still, blue sky's and water with plenty of white sand. Heh, better than lots of white snow piled up waiting for thaw out.
 
Your fishing guides...Hose-A and Hose-B look absolutely thrilled with the whole thing..did that have to scrub puke or something?
