Well the superbowl wasn't real super....

I didn't even remember it was last night until I heard the score on NPR this morning......

I really enjoyed the game. I had no preference one way or the other, and like most people I hoped to see a competitive game. But I love a dominating defense, the kind that the powers that be in the NFL constantly try to do away with. What I saw last night was a lot of hard legal hits, top notch pass coverage, in your face pass rush(even though they never sacked manning), and creating turn overs. Not to mention their special teams play, excellent kick coverage, and return game. More then anything they just tackled well, good form and swarmed the football. That's exciting football to me.

I personally enjoyed it.....lots of Seahawks fans in my neck of the woods because 2 Seattle players (Bobby Wagner and Robert Turbin) graduated from Utah State. I really like Peyton but I had to pull for Seattle in this one. I don't think anybody was expecting Seattle to dominate like that though!

The heck you say... BEST GAME EVER!!!....Let me 'splain.

I got a free ride clear from my ranch in the sticks to the VFW for myself and my wife. (No worries about who got stuck driving, and couldn't whoop it up.) At the kick off, along with a tiny $15 fee the bar was free drinks through the whole game. They had also set up numerous raffles, scoring games ect. At the end of the game there was a big drawing for the entire pot of all those $15 fee's and there was a ton of folk's there.

Pretty darn quickly, I was allowed to rib the heck out'a my wife (Die hard Bronco's fan) of which that ribbing lasted the whole night and is still going on. Not enjoying the ribbing my wife exit's stage left to try her hand at some video poker. And promply returns with $70.

So I figure it's time to go out and have a smoke (I smoke a pipe, now I'm retired), only to hear the 'Hawks score. I'm thinking "oh hell, I'm "that guy", and will have to go outside everytime they get close to the in-zone just so they'll score. Fortunately they made another TD while I was in the room so I was golden.

Just before half-time we won a regulation foot ball (of which we made the whole place sign), and a Coor's beer (Regular I hate Lite) t-shirt for me. Later the wife talked me into buying a couple of tickets to try to win a Crown Royal pillow and blanket. They were kinda cool, made from those neat little purple bags. Well on one of my smoke breaks, like the cool hubby I am, I made sure she won it 'cause I just so happened to purchase a few more tickets...or a lot more depending on your point of view...he-he.

And low and behold my SeaHawks win!!!

So they start the raffle for the big pot and guess what??? WE WON THAT TOO!!!!! The only catch to that is the winner of the pot paid off the bar tab, for the "free bar." So turns out I suddenly had a $700 bar tab he-he. However, I did mention that there was a lot of people, and I didn't just walk away with a piddly couple of hundred bucks.

And best of all, to finish off the most awesome day ever, I got lucky!!!!!!

I'm still on cloud nine, and I hardly ever watch football.- Seth

"Super" is all in the eye's of the beholder!

Seth, you need to go buy some lottery tickets!! I was thinking either that, or Ducks Unlimited and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation banquets. Truth be know, it's all my wife's luck...her and her clan are always winning stuff. About the only lucky thing I ever managed was her. And I think that was only because I wore Wrangler's while we were dating. Dropped those like a hot rock, as soon as we got married. Hate Wranglers.. I have always like the 'Hawks though. At my first surf station the OINC was a huge fan, and at the top the the flagpole we had a Seahawks helmet.-Seth
