When bad times turn good!

Thanks to the unseasonably cold weather we're having this year in Wisconsin, I started my day by crawling under my trailer to unthaw my water lines. While laying on my back, waving a heat gun around, something caught my eye. At first glance I think, "Is that a mallard I see?". Common sense set in shortly after and i realized i was staring at an old decoy that had probably been under the trailer for longer than I've been alive. Its an old Herters decoy with the metal keel on it and with a little scrubbing the thing looks brand new! Really couldnt believe how well it cleaned up. I didnt know much about it so i looked it up online and see they're selling for about 45 bucks in fair condition. So ofcourse i called my dad and told him about it. he explained how Herters was like the original Gander MOuntain or Cabelas and it was a rare find. Thought that was really cool. If anyone is interested in seeing a picture, let me know & ill post them. Now I just have to find place to put it.

Brian,
is it wood or foam?
I had the privileged of hunting over a rig of wooden Herters a few years back and also hunt over lots of there foam decoys in my diver rig.

I too spent the day under my house first thawing a frozen water line and then fixing where it was broken. Cold wet day for sure. To bad i didn't find some old decoys when I was down there.
