can i get a few pictures of the back on you wigeon dekes? I am working on a half dozen corkers and they are my first wigeons. especially bobtailed cause these are.

Happy to help, glad you like them. Holler with any questions. I also have several step by step photos of that first Widgeon I could email to you if you'd like. I'm also working on setting up pdf docs with a bunch of step by steps of several decoys I've done and some from the classes we've taught. They'll be on the website very soon.

not trying to nitpic .....but you might want to reconsider the breast color on the bird in the back, way to dark , and while were at it I think the white patch is to big! head looks ok , I guess that will work. I couldn't see the rest.............( insert pic of whistling and shuffling feet :p )

on a side note
I tried your "mouse bucket" !! Not thinking I grabbed a 3 gal instead of a 5 gal and no fluid at bottom ( uh dry run ?)................theres a reason you don't use a 3 gal., other than the fact Mississippi mice can jump out of a 3 gal bucket ......it worked ! Now they just look at me wondering when I'm bringing back more peanut butter.

Now, you have to admit...I have finally gotten the painting on that bird to appear soft and feathery. That's a real challenge....greater challenge than the colors. ;) Too funny.
You're right on the size of the bucket. I've even caught mice in an empty trash can at the shop here. Couple mice climbed in, searching for food and couldn't jump out. Also, liquid in the bottom keeps them from jumping out as long as they can't touch the bottom. The antifreeze preserves them so they don't stink also...in case you forget about checking your .... trap line.
Say.....you coming to Westlake this year? Hope so! You missed some fun time last year.

I've seen several different shades of the breast feathers on Drake Widgeons. The color Lou is using seems a match for the one I have on the wall over my fireplace. Just like I've seen several different shades of rusty red on Canvasbacks. BTW I've been seeing more Cans this year than I can remember seeing. What gives with FWS ?

Skinny double keel....thought that was obvious.......going for the realistic look. Not bad, huh!
Sorry you won't be able to make it to Westlake. Just tell the wife you're going out for milk and you'll be back in...4 days. ;)
