I'm not sure why my post didn't show up, it was there when I hit preview. Sorry about that
--------------------------
I posted up pretty much the same question last spring.
I was looking to set up my 10 yr old son with a shotgun. I pretty much knew he wouldn't be ready for a 12 and a 28...
That is the problem I'm trying to solve. I have two 20 ga. guns, one is a 3" the other is a 2 3/4"
Can anyone recomend a good 20 ga. 2 3/4" notox load for geese? The shooting should be pretty close
Thanks
I have been looking for Hevi Shot for a 2 3/4" 20 ga. shells, but it looks like the manufacturer only loads it in 3".
If anyone reloads in 2 3/4" I'd be happy to pay to try a few boxes, I'm taking my son and the neigbor kid on youth waterfowl day this year and loads like this would be perfect...
Oregon, sweet Oregon.
My former home state. I've been homesick since I left in 2000, someday I'll be back.
There is great hunting to be had for sure. Take a look here

This is a decent place to start, if it is still available.
The Beretta looks like a sweet shotgun, but I was hoping to get into a youth shotgun for a bit less.
I was also considering the Charles Daly youth 20ga. Anyone ever had one of these autoloaders? I haven't seen one in hand yet, but have heard through internet forums that they aren't the...
Sorry for hijacking this thread, but I have a 9 yr old boy and I'm trying to decide on a pump or autoloader in 20 ga.
He's 4'9" and about 80lbs but so far has never experienced recoil from anything beside the BB gun or 22lr. Any advice on selecting a 20 ga. for my kid?
Thanks- Tim
Looks good. Now mount them up on y-boards and make sure you have plenty of shotgun shells.
I made up some bufflehead silos on y-boards this year and have done pretty well on them this season. The silos really draw attention to your spread.
Lets see if I can get the pic up
It was a great hunt with good numbers of birds flying. This was my first time hunting from a layout blind and I must admit I was kinda mesmerized watching the geese work our decoys, until Bill calls out "safety off" then I remembered what I was there for...
Thanks for posting your diagram and pics again.
I'll put up some pics of the y-boards I made as soon as I can find the firewire/usb cable thingy to download them off my camera.
