Started yesterday out trying to get my shop in order…. I got sidetracked.
I’ve had this handheld dummy launcher for 30 years, the stock was broke and I really don’t think it was that useful for training. Until now. Power door lock actuator and remote winch controller from Amazon made for an...
I don’t even have to look, people send me ads and pictures all the time. Occasionally thoughtful folks drop off well worn duckboats in my yard! I’ve gotten better about moving things along now though.
If I ever see a really good deal on a sport boat I’ll buy it….. what a phenomenal multi...
we definitely dont deal with tides here in minnesota and north dakota but i have in the past propped floaters up in the field when the need arose. I really prefer my decoys to self right.
My other observation is that without significant rainfall in the very near future the nesting season in the dakotas will be dismal….however….. since the tiny temporary potholes favored by pintails are already dry maybe they will make use of more permanent spots and success will be higher? 🤷♂️
Oh it’s definitely out of whack, it was mostly drakes from what I saw ….. although my eyes are definitely drawn to those and my observations are very unscientific!
I tried Texas rigs and didn’t like them primarily because I might be in water 8” to 8’
I think I’ll do 3 or 4 different designs on these buffs and see if there’s a noticeable difference to me.
The one I completed I did add notches as these will all have individual lines and weights.
Is there anything out there that dives deeply into size and shape? Surely someone has done the legwork for me 😂
I was just in North Dakota snow goose hunting….. the pintail show every morning was pretty amazing! I’ve never seen so many! Last fall we would have our pintail limit in short order and then pass them the rest of the morning.
I’m currently working on a rig of bufflehead decoys for myself , I got to thinking about the keel design…. Does shape and size make much difference?
I have 1 bird almost complete and will float test it before I cut out the rest of them.
Last fall I had the opportunity to use one of these pluckers….. it worked great. Orvis sells them and as you can imagine they are ridiculously expensive!!
Has anyone used any of the drums available on smazon to build their own ?
