    March "What's on your Workbench?"

Great Turkeys Jode! Nice work everyone. Fresh off the drawing bench. Drawn for Fran Scholl. Graphite and carbon pencil. This one was drawn for my uncle. The pup on the bottom just passed away. RIP Libby!

Charles, Here is a basic Barnegat gunner blackie. No frills. Raw umber and black mix for the crown and raw umber mixed with a touch of white for the cheeks. Stipple blended. Quick and easy.

    Mr. Mallard

Thanks everyone! Charles, the shot holes were made with an awl. I even pressed a pellet into a couple of them. I would be afraid of actually damaging the decoy with a shot gun blast. He was also dropped (carefully) onto stones and chain. I then rubbed him down with a scouring pad after sealing...

    Mr. Mallard

This is my first carving in about a year and my first attempt at distressing. A Mallard for my son. Hollowed cedar in oil paint. Notice the dents and shot holes. It will receive more distressing after it's dry and get an aged pad weight and leather loop. Best to all, Kevin

Bill, I like the throw "throw together" hoodie. Looks great! Here is a mallard for my son. He took a beatin' and got the business end of a scouring pad today. His finish paint will be antiqued as well. Best wishes to all, Kevin
