    Quill, take two

It's been fun watching her progress Troy. Nothing is better than spending each day ,the entire day with your new charge. Some of us are lucky enough to have that luxury to that and at this point in life I wouldn't want it any other way.

The old outboard is on its way out.

I run a 9.9 Suzuki electric start 100.1 2 from the late 80s I just took it out of winter storage ,fired right up. I normally run Johnson's. Suzuki makes a great outboard. and yes still it's still oil injection and the 100.1 ratio keeps ticking almost 40 years later

    What have I been gifted?

Nice little boat, I would recess the seat half way below the gunnels. It will keep your center of gravity lower and make exiting the boat in waders much easier

    Age of banded duck/goose

One year old Canada a mile from where it was banded and a 15 year old Mallard Banded in Vt. I read the banding numbers while back on the task force the oldest Canada was 36 , black 32 ,Mallard 28 if my memory serves me correctly. Breeding success is all about habitat .

    Suzuki DT9.9C

Yes Carl, the tank is beneath the cowling, DT9.9, I guess they made them for about 5 years, this is a 95, it's a100 to 1 mix but I plan to run it around 50 to 1. Electric start. Just picked it up, bayonet coupling for the fuel line was missing when I went to start it . Ordered a new fuel...

    Suzuki DT9.9C

Just picked up a like new 9.9 2 stroke (94). It is the oil injected model, 100 to 1. What mix have you used to ensure this nearly 30 year motor lasts?

    Texas rig question

I have rigged 4 of 12 for a deeper set. I just put an overhand knot in the 4 to keep them separate . I also use slotted bags to hunt out of avoiding the tangle

    Spring is Sprung

It really isn't spring until the blackfly hatch and the last snow storm (Mothers day) has passed. Sometimes on the same day!

Snow goose hunting in a few weeks

Hi Anthony, I am going this week Wed-friday, there are birds in the finger lakes now but this snow and cold will keep them from moving. Hopefully by mid week. I also hunt out of a shallow pit and this year about 4k dekes. I use to hunt spring Canada's that is gone now. Good luck with your hunt

    Pull Behind ATV Mower Reccomendations

John I have a dr brush mower (Walk behind) and a Dr finish mower . I knock down the big stuff and keep my trails open with the walk behind. The finish and brush pull behind mowers can be offset to not follow directly behind the Atv. I often see them for sale used, usually not running or not...

    Season came and Gone.

The NE task meeting will be in March (virtual) I'm sure the SE will also be around then. You can still contact your local zone rep for that region. I was told another survey is in the works for the 22/23 season. Time to put out more wood boxes. I shot more woodies this year than Mallards, a...

    Season came and Gone.

It certainly ended early, the 19th?. Up on Champlain it was just getting good and Vt closed in on the 23rd,a week earlier than the past 3 years. It is getting harder but I still enjoy the later dates. Hunting in October is pleasant but there really aren't birds moving in till later in the...

    Season Dates stink

I still am on the task force for the NE zone. A few years back the state did send out approx 6000 survey. The majority like warm weather hunting (October). The task force was replaced so far as actually setting Duck season dates. Now a computer Matrix set the seasons. It used those survey...
