Just curious as it's been a while since I've done any foam carving. Is the workingdecoys.net forum still in existence? If not, are there archive links anywhere?
Ok, so here's a build review I did on my Alviso/ South Bay Sneak Boat. Hope this is helpful to anyone considering building one. There's some bonus footage at the end of me putting it to use "a few years back". I hunted with the Alviso a couple days ago, but haven't published a video on that hunt...
Well... I think the shorter you built it, the more it would wobble while sculling. I think its the wobble that catches the attention of ducks almost as much as the approach. Just my thoughts. I will ask my friend Skip, hopefully this week. I've always wondered the same. However, in the hand...
Stowing the nose inside the cockpit is an awesome idea! I've considered that myself, but I'm not sure how practical it would be. I've even considered building a shorter boat with a pointy bow and scullers stern that I could attach a "submerged, extended keel" forward of the bow. It could be a...
Have you started your build? When/if I have time, I could think about an Alviso specific video. I think I have a few pictures I could cobble together something. It would be at least a few weeks from now.

That's fantastic! You even have a narrative which is great. I built my boat using the plans but incorporated a bit of a vee in the bottom, used no frames and used stitch and glue construction. It's a fairly light and very solid boat I'm sure will last my lifetime. Thanks for saving this.
