It's so easy even a geezer can do it! (not referencing myself, but HuntinDave has been posting pics)

Click on Media at the top

full

Click Add Media

full

Click create a personal album (or later you can choose to add to an album you already started)

full

Click upload media

full

(at least on a window machine) it will open up your file explorer and you can pic pictures from anywhere on your 'puter:

full

Click Open

You can add descriptions at this point if you want (for those of us with limited memory capacity)

full

Scroll down and click save

full

When you want to post from your album, find the album and click the pic you want to post up
full

Right click on the image and then the little box with an arrow in the upper right
full

Scroll down to the Copy image BB code, and click the little copy button:

full

When posting, right click and paste...you should get something like this...you can preview to see the actual image
full

click preview again if you want to go back to editing, otherwise post it up
full

Sorry if some of my previous descriptions confused things

you can make multiple albums to organize things, you can choose to keep them private or share.

When posting, open two tabs with Duckboats, one with your album and one with the post you are making so you can bounce back and forth

This is all new to all of us, but I figured out a lot of things redoing those swan pictures, so I though I would share...if anyone has found easier ways (I am sure there are some) by all means, post them up, I am always game to learn...

Best
Chuck

Chuck,
We will see if a geezer can indeed follow instructions. One thing in my favor is that the process appears to be "seamstress friendly".

"It's so easy even a geezer seamstress can do it! " Fixed it for you.

You can also just do copy/paste to add pictures. First I did a screenshot from my PC, then clicked copy, then just pasted it in this post. Then I opened a pic I had on my pc, copied it, and pasted. So this is the most simple option to get pics posted.

RESULTS OF COPY/PASTE
So after posting the text and pics above, I went and checked the Media section to get a little more info about what happened with the pics.
When just copying and pasting pics, it put it in the Duck Boat/Hunting Forum album.

Then I clicked on Your Media and they showed up there as well.

Then I checked Your Albums and they were not there. So it does not automatically create albums for you. But will still post them under the forum album and it knows it was your media you posted as well.

So copy/paste pics is as simple as you can get. But keep in mind it does not create and put those pics in any personal albums in the forum.

FROM MOBILE

Looks as if copy/paste works from mobile as well.

Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF) - Don't copy and paste pictures. Use the real file (or link) to post from when you can.

Guys & gal. Understand that if you copy and paste images, as explained above, all you get is a raster image taken from your screen, not the actual full picture as stored in its file. If all you have is a screen to capture that's another story. But if the file is there on your PC or device use it. The resolution is better, in fact as good as it can get. You can do this simple cut and paste but folks don't get to see the better picture contained in the actual file. For best quality use the "Insert Image" tool to put pictures amongst your post text, or the "Attach File" button which makes a nice little slide show at the bottom of your post.

But there is a bigger problem when using the cut and paste method described above. You are correct about images posted here being mirrored in the Media section. All images posted here are placed in the Duck Boat/Hunting Forum Album in the Media section. That means if you copy and paste a picture from any album, and post it here, it winds up in the album AGAIN. By the way, when you post a picture on the forum it does not automatically go into your personal album. Your personal album contains only what you explicitly upload to it. However, it does provide easily copied links to share here or anywhere. If you keep copying and pasting images from an album all you are doing is taking up more server space while making a xerox copy of a xerox copy. Please don't do it this way. The goal here is to upload the image and link to it rather than upload the same image over and over. To get shareable ready-to-go links click on an image in an album and look under the comment section for the chain and click it to copy a link to your clipboard. Or for more posting options look in the right corner and click the new window icon (box with the arrow in the corner). That opens the image in its own window and at the bottom right you'll see "Share this media." Use that info to share the full resolution picture wherever your heart chooses.

If you just hit the picture button, right next to the emoji button, on the post/reply tool bar, its reallllyyyyy easy.

Eric,
Thank you for this information.

I am about as bad at figuring out computer stuff as anyone can be, and I posted a photo with no instructions just fine. Huge upgrade here! Well done!
