Time flies

It seems like yesterday that I announced on here that a litter was born with my future pup in it. It was 10 years ago today that Deuce was born. 7 weeks later he chose me, true story. I tried to pick another pup but a little slick haired rasckle wouldn't leave me alone. He would climb all over me every time I tried to look at another one. He still walks all over me. The breeder laughed when I finally held him up and said "I'll take this one." He said "I didn't know which one you'd pick, but I knew right away which one picked you."

He led me away from waterfowling and more towards the uplands even though most of the firsts for him early on involved ducks and geese.
He's the best hunting partner I could have ever asked for. He's still in great shape and acts like a puppy most of the time. Hopefully he has many years left in him but I know he will slow down sooner or later.

Enjoy every day! It does go by way to quickly.

Happy Birthday to your poor beardless ugly dog! I hope you have many more years with Deuce

I try to make up for his lack of beard...but I don't do very well at that. Maybe a transplant...🤔

For sure, Enjoy every minute you can with that birddog. Take lots of pictures so you can remember all the places and things you guys did together. I cherish all the photos and stories I was able to put together with my birddogs.
