@Vince Pagliaroli, I see you got everything straight so you can get on now and post.

Do you remember this painting you did years ago?

Well, years ago I also carved a miniature (just shy of 2.5") to match it and well priorities got in the way and I wanted to make it a point this year to finally paint it so it would be done. Would like to carve all the different ones you have painted but just haven't had the time.

Ben,

Hope all is well with you and yours. Thanks for inquiring about this old duck hunter. Recently I had Charpal Tunnel surgery on my left hand, and will have the right hand done after the left heals. Have many art and carving projects in limbo with ideas for new projects once I'm back in action.

Your miniature carving makes me smile. Ya do a very good job indeed. To inspire another artist is a humbling experience and so very rewarding. Words don't do the feeling justice.

Time was I would do one watercolor painting a day, and once my hands are healed and ready to go I'll try to do that. Not having a pencil, paint brush or carving knife in my hand feels very odd.

I look forward to seeing more of your work, no matter how long it takes. Good things take time.

Best regards
Vince

beautiful painting and mini-decoy!
Vince, I hope you have a quick recovery.

Welcome to the club, Vince. Had this done Summer of '22- CT along with elbow compression release. Had the right hand done back in late 80's.

Glad to say it worked out great, and I've had no issues with numbness or tingling since. You'll not regret getting it done. Now if we can only get some good lower back repairs

My father was a neurosurgeon. His favorite procedure to perform was carpal tunnel.

He said that it was a fairly simple operation and the patient would always come in in pain and leave with no pain. It worked and worked well and the patients were grateful and it improved their lives.

Vince I hope your recovery is swift and brings you to the point where you can paint and create all that much better and faster.

It is a difficult thing to have so many ideas come to one's brain and not be able to bring them to reality. My wife has put me on a strict rule to not start any new projects this year, but there are just so many that come into my head that it's hard to not jump into something. I will be ready to see all that you produce once you heal up.

Bob,

I'm happy to be a member of the club thank you. Put if off way to long but now with having cataract surgery have new eyes, and will have new hands. For outdoorsmen & artists doesn't get much better than that does it. Our lower back problems... Had the 2 steroid shots for the back pain day before hand surgery. Waited until after most hunting seasons, and got the medical "bundle" that is ongoing. Life is GOOD.

Best regards
Vince

Todd,

Your dad was correct. Relief was immediate and being grateful is a understatement. Pure JOY is what it is, and the surgery was very quick. Being a decoy carver makes one really appreciate good knife work.

Best regards

Ben,

Thank you. We always strive for better. Faster was never my style will be interesting if it happens. The ideas we get for new projects are gifts, some we open right away and others get stashed for another time. With the will of God we get the time to see them through. I dunno if your wife's strict diet of no new projects is doable, but a "yes dear" is the proper reply. Took me awhile to learn that one.

Best regards
Vince
