Long Island Gunning sharpie or skiff

I am not familar with the gunning sharpie. Has anyone seen this type of boat?

Yes, they were original to East Patchogue, NY I believe. Im sure Steve Sanford can chime in here on the exact history & construction but they were quite popular. I remember seeing them in research for our Pattersquash Documentary we released in March.

A sharpie is a type of flat bottom sailboat. So this design is somewhat similar to the concept of converting a sunfish to a sneakbox.

Thanks, would be nice to see an original boat. It is a good alternative to a sneakbox.
