Winter is here. Who’s hunting?

You guys are killing me. Haven't hunted since 2012. And haven't had a dog since Kaden died in 2021, BUT, I have finally gotten the landlord to ok my having a golden retriever. I was going to get a puppy, but now I think i am going to rescue a youngish one (around 2 years old.). All my Bird dogs have been rescues or from the dog pound. So next fall... Lookout!
I feel your pain, haven't hunted since I moved down to Tampa in 2019.

Layout hunting Lake Erie this a.m. in my home made big water layout. I wish I knew how to post pictures so I could show you the boat. Something special about hunting out of your own creation.
Don, when you create a reply, there is an "attach files" button right under the box you type text. Hit that button and you can add photos. Even if you are using your phone.
Otherwise, send them to me and I will post them for you!

Love seeing photos from across the continent and the different migrations. We got our first snow here in Southern Ontario this week (although supposed to all melt by Monday).

Been hunting hard this year, lots of mornings off of work. The two dog rotation is a lot of fun.

13° on my way out the door. The black and white ducks are finally showing up but no way to get to them....lol. Maybe I should just grab a goose!

Guess if we are sharing pooch photos……

Im not overly fond of this one’s abilities but I’ve always said, they’re my buddy before they’re a hunter. 12 months out of the year we just hang out and she’s a home dog (kind of, this one doesn’t like being inside, but loves being in the shop with me) and 4 months out of the years she my hunting pup. After 3 long seasons, light bulbs are finally coming on and she’s starting to become quite a retriever. Soft mentality, inability to work through pressure and just overall very quirky personality. But she’s still my best best friend.

Troy, looks like Quill has learned how to drive the boat, give kisses and pose for photos, I'd say thats quite a learning curve for 11 months!!

Thanks to all for continuing to share!!

Quill looks like she is a keeper. By chance do you know who makes that sweater the young lady is wearing??

Thanks Carl. Quill has quite the personality. And she's coming along nicely as a retriever too.
