Hey guys, it’s been a while. Life has been lifing. Hope everyone is doing well.

I am wanting to start collecting vintage decoy anchor weights and I know some of you have some good collections (looking at you @Steve Sanford 😂).

Let’s see them to give some reference and inspiration.

I saw several vintage herter's and some others on hibid this year. Keep an eye out there, especially the auctions with duck hunting lots. They could be in lots but not specifically called so you'll have to look at a lot of pictures to pick them out.

As you know, I have 60 or 70 old decoy anchors hanging in my shop. Rather than a "collection" per se, though, I regard them as simply those that my Dad and I accumulated over our gunning lifetimes. Some are factory - including my cherished pair from D C Sanford in Bridgeport, CT - supplier of anchors and keel weights to Wildfowler Decoys. Most are one-offs made by the gunners themselves. I have purchased just a few - and been given some by good friends. On my List is someday truly "curating" them - with index and all.

As we are in Germany - with my daughter's family - for the holidays, I have no photos at hand.

In the meantime, have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
