I like it, sounds like a plan.It was a one way move. I bought A small place in Morgan Utah. The gameplan is to spend October-March Out there. Duck hunting the first half and skiing the second half. (With the option to get into elk.)

Glad you were not one of the roadside statistics. My area missed all the real nasty stuff. Just 30 miles north of me, from the western border to the eastern border in Iowa got hammered. South of me got hit too.

Glad to see the cross-county haul made it without issues. Let me ask you something. How long are you able to stay on the road without taking a break? I used to be able to drive off a full tank of gas without stopping but those days are over. I start getting uncomfortable after a few hours and have to stop and walk around a few minutes. Seems my hip joints don't like being stuck in one place for too long. Not a big deal but does take extra time.
This! I can do about 8-10 hours drive time in a day now, but hips don’t like it.Tod

Tod, I'd go with new tires on new rims. Take the outboard off to save the beating on the bracket. Any thing loose take out, there are unscruplious people out there, they will rob you in the hotel lot. Lock the hitch and safety chains. Do the bearings and have a set ready to go.. I use timkin bearings [usa], not the chinese that West and the others use, [truck supply shop]. Never had one fail...I guess my gut is saying that I'd rather not drive 2000 miles on those tires.I'll look at options to at least get radials.

Excellent! Glad it all worked out safe! That's one fine looking rig!Well, 3 days and 2222 miles later, Beaver and I made it safely to WY. The boat is in the garage, a fire in the woodstove and a bourbon in my hand.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions in the thread.
I went with the radial Carlisle 145/r12s, which are an E rated tire and rated for 81 MPH, which was nice cross driving across the country. The tire is physically much larger then the 12-4.8 bias tires that were on there - more then twice as heavy and the the tread area was much larger even if the diameter was less than an inch larger. I did have to raise the fenders up a bit, the volume was the tire was just so much larger even though the diameter was just a lil bit bigger.

Had the pleasure of fighting through a spring storm plowing through the midwest. Saw over 100 cars off the road, including over a dozen rolled over RVs and semis.

Fought the winds following the front the past 2 days. Wyoming had some good wind today, I'm glad my load was low and heavy.
