1966 Evinrude Ducktwin Barn find

In my never ending search for my elusive quarry "The Duck" goes another day without finding any. I did however come across a Ducktwin with a build on date of 1965. Correction, it's a 1966 based on the model number. It's all there with, so far nothing broken I can find. Owner said it ran fine the last time it was run.....10 years ago! It was the owners grandfather's then to his dad but he doesn't remember much about the motor except it ran. I'm sure a cleaning of the tank, carburator and other maintenance items will need checked but the price was right after a bit of haggling. Got it for $60 so if I can't get it running it will be a nice lamp next to my recliner. My great Uncle had one and I have fond memories of him hunting out of a wooden skiff propelled by a ducktwin of this vintage.

I've been getting a little time to dig into this motor. Bought a Evinrude service manual off ebay and found a nice video series on disassembling a 1965 Lightwin on YouTube. Learning a lot about these little motors. Before getting to carried away the first thing was to do a compression test. I was surprised the compression is much better than I had hoped for. Now it's time to remove the fuel tank and clean it out and remove the flywheel and magneto plate assembly. Time to pull out my tote boxes and hope I still have puller.

Awesome stuff! Great find I picked one up last year from the original owners son a 1965 (non-folding) but had the original sales receipt, booklet, registration card and even a record Evinride produced "How to Call Ducks" neat stuff. I gave her a run last summer and fired right up.

That's a great find! I'll bet it pushes the Water Feather pretty good!

Ed,
I ran across this in a garage search for a duck twin folding motor. We never found the motor. You are welcome to have it. PM your address and I will mail it to you.
