Canadian Pothole Prairies Getting Much Needed Rain

Rain totals over the 90 day period up to April 30 look to be favorable for duck production. Perhaps the drought has broke.

I was in saskatchewan in early may, there were many road closures and lots of flooding, potholes were definitely refilled.

Down on the Gulf coast we are finally getting rain, our monsoon season has kicked in. But it will take a while for groundwater levels to recharge.

Yeah, that’s good news. If it actually holds, it should help nesting conditions a lot this season.

Plenty of rain here in the NW corner of Pa.. I think we are about 3 inches over our normal rainfall at this time. Now we need rain the rest of the summer, it seems that, in the past few years, we go dry from June until Oct. so I am hoping that doesn't happen this year.

This is good to read about. Hopefully the ducks can get a good hatch. The news here is continued drought. Not super severe yet here in the upper Mississippi Flyway but the forecast isn't great. We are in the red circle and the current state of the upper flyway is abnormally low water. We'll see how the year progresses.
