Winchester MDL 12 Heavy Duck

Wish I had the money, I want to add one of these to the arsenal one day.

FYI, I was there this weekend and took a first hand look at it, plain-jane with some surface wear as expected with some bluing missing in the carry area just forward of the receiver buy overall in nice shape. Bore looked fine, action tight etc.. Stock had minor wear and some light scratching, but overall very good with no major gouges that I noticed. Overall a good solid Model 12.

If everything is as it should be, matching #, not adjusted for excess wear, etc. The no rib, no checkering, and corn cob fore IS the the model 12 that works the best. The full choke is among the best ever made right up there with the Old Browning Auto 5, 12ga., Mag. No choke tubes can touch em. Mine has been my Turkey Swatter for many years, geese once in awhile with old bismuth NO TOX. One issue IS they were designed for a Roll Crimp, not a Star Crimp. Therefore 3" hulls can get hung up. No problem for me as I use 2 3/4" ammo most of the time. A 3" round can be the last shell in the magazine and Shuck that Mother like ya mean it cuz nothing sounds like the Model 12 action...Nothing. Bluing, ribs, checkering and pretty don't kill birds. Shotguns that fit and work like they are a part of you Do. That plain jane stock can be cut to proper length with no problem if need be, and recoil pad attached as I did with my plain Model 12, 16ga.

my 2 cents
