    Auto Parts from Mechanics

Just bought a transmission - mechanic arranged for me to buy the unit at his price and have the factory warranty in my name. He'll take care of all logistics and installation. I like it when the mechanic and shop owner are the same person ... different world.

    June Workbench

Round 1 of my diver rig got painted. These are all blue foam, sandwiched foam heads, burlapped and Homer coated. I tried Steve Sanford's paint process and used his color recommendations. Couldn't get the stipple vermiculation to look good so I used a fan brush. Round 2 are dark cork mallard...

    More Fred photos... Cans...

Canvasback question: is that high-head position a relaxed pose for cans? I would tend to make most of my decoys like the drake in picture 3. Planning on making a few before next season so I'll probably do some of both but the lower head position is very outnumbered in these photos.

    A bit of history...

Hi Steve - none in paint yet, sorry. Maybe in about a month after the coating dries really well I'll have some done. The heads are foam-sandwich over a hardboard center with apoxy sculpt bills. Still lots to learn ... havin' a ball.

    A bit of history...

Can you post a picture of the back ends - both diagrams show tails and I was not envisioning that on these decoys. I thought they were more like cutting a football in half lengthwise, if that makes sense.

Did you ever make the 16' boat mentioned in the above thread? How about some pics?
